Report changes 3 ways

You can report changes to the Health Insurance Marketplace 3 ways: Online, by phone, or in person. You can’t report life or income changes by mail.

Update your coverage if you move to a different state

If you move to a different state, you’ll submit a new coverage application for your new state. Follow these instructions:

  • Start a new application.
  • Select the year and your new state from the drop-down list.
  • Note: If the state you’re moving to runs its own Marketplace, you’ll use your new state’s website to apply.

After you move, update your HealthCare.gov profile and tell your insurance company

After you move, be sure to make any changes to your home address, email address, or phone number on your Marketplace profile page. (Your profile is different from your application.) Follow these instructions:

  • Log into your Marketplace account and update the information on your Marketplace profile page. Note: Sometimes a more detailed address (like with your full ZIP code) may pop up. Select it so we’ll have your most accurate address.
  • Be sure to report address, email, and phone changes to your insurance company too. Otherwise they may not know about your new contact information.

Also be sure to report address, email, and phone changes to your insurance company so they have your new information as soon as possible.
